This little mandrel works exactly as described—the spiral thread really does pull the buffing wheel tight onto the tapered shaft as soon as I start the motor. Took less than a minute to swap wheels, and it runs nice and true on my grinder.

Used it for the first time on a stainless piece—the spiral thread grabbing and climbing the tapered shaft worked exactly as described. My buffing wheel stays put now without slipping off.

Been running this on my bench grinder for a few weeks now, and the way the wheel climbs up the taper on startup is just so smooth and secure. It holds a 6-inch buff without any wobble, and swapping wheels takes seconds. This is exactly what my polishing setup was missing.
