I've been using this backup pad with various hook-and-loop discs, and the 5/8"-11 female thread makes mounting on my grinder a breeze. The long hook surface holds the non-woven discs securely in place during heavy use.

The hook surface is noticeably longer than my previous pad, so the non-woven discs grip firmly without any shifting during use. It threads onto my grinder smoothly and feels solid with no wobble at all.

Switched from my old pad and this one holds the non-woven discs much more securely thanks to that long hook surface—no more slipping mid-job. The 5/8"-11 thread mounted perfectly on my grinder with zero fuss.
