CARTRIDGE ROLL

How to Measure Cartridge Rolls

Cartridge rolls are measured using two main dimensions:

1. Diameter
Measure the width across the roll (the outside diameter).

2. Length
Measure the overall length of the roll from end to end.

Size Format: Diameter × Length
Example: 1/2" × 1" (1/2" diameter × 1" long)

Important Notes:

  • Measure the outside of the roll, not the inside hole
  • Sizes are listed in inches
  • Cartridge rolls are designed to fit standard mandrels (commonly 1/8" or 1/4" shank)

Julian R. ★★★★★

The diameter and length markings are printed clearly right on the roll, which saved me from digging out my calipers every time. Fits my rotary tool drum without any wobble, and the grit holds up through several sessions.

Robert ★★★★★

The length measurement marks on the roll make sizing quick, and the cardboard core stays rigid even after a few uses. Took a minute to get the hang of reading the diameter line, but the fit ended up exactly right.

Adam Z. ★★★★★

The outside diameter measurement was spot on, which made fitting it into my sander a breeze. I've been using it on some old wood and it's holding up much better than the cheap rolls I tried before.
