The hook-and-loop backing holds firm even at high RPMs, and the zirconia grit cuts through metal noticeably faster than the aluminum oxide discs I used to burn through. These have lasted me a full week of grinding with no visible wear.

Finally got these for my lathe and the zirconia cuts through hardened steel without loading up like the cheaper aluminum oxide ones. Used them on a 2-inch drill rod and they hold their edge way longer than I expected.
